Choreographers as mentors in Dance India Dance

.

Zee TV's biggest dance reality show Dance India Dance has the likes of Terence Lewis, Remo D'Souza and Geeta Kapoor performing dual duties. In addition to choosing and training the best talent across the country, these choreographers will also be serving as mentors i.e. judges.

Throwing light on the task of the mentors, a source says, "The four choreographers will pick the best 12-16 dancers through auditions and then train them. Once the show commences, they will occupy the judge's seat as mentors – ala Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. So when a contestant who is mentored by a particular judge performs the other two judges judge. The format is pretty similar to what we have seen in shows like Sa Re Ga Ma. It's just that here it is dance. All together there will be four mentors and a Mahaguru, who will be a Bollywood celebrity."

Talking to Tellychakkar dance guru Terence says, “I have been offered the show but I have yet to sign the agreement. If things work out then in all probability I will do the show.”

If things work out for Terence then this will be Terence’s second time as a judge on a TV show. The first time he judged a show was with Saroj Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant. Meanwhile, the show will be hosted by Jay Bhanushali and RJ and actor Tarana Raja Kapoor. Confirming the news, Tarana says, "Yes, Jay and I will host Dance India Dance. Beyond this, I have nothing to say."

The auditions for Dance India Dance will take place across ten cities. The first audition was conducted in Jaipur on 28 November. Come December 2nd, it will be Indore. The final auditions will be held in Kolkata on 26 and 27th of December.

It is buzzed that the show will replace Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and will go on air in mid-Jan.
