Atif Aslam to make television debut with Sahara One's Sur-Kshetra

Heart-throb Atif Aslam is set to make his television debut with Sahara One's upcoming singing reality show Sur-Kshetra. The Pakistani singer who stole millions of hearts across the world right with his debut international album Doorie folllowed by several Bollywood hits viz. Aadat, Woh Lamhe, Tere Bin, Bakhuda Tumhi Ho, Pehli Nazar Mein, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Tu Jaane Na, Tere Liye and many more; will now lead a team of singers from Pakistan selected through auditions for the show.

Noted singer-music director turned actor, Himesh Reshammiya, will captain the Indian team of singers. The sensational new reality show Sur-Kshetra will provide true blue singing talents from India and Pakistan with an opportunity to display their vocal talent and outperform their rivals. Sur-Kshetra kickstarts from India with 6 city auditions-Lucknow, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Ludhiana and Indore; and from Pakistan with 3 city auditions-Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad; from December 24, 2011.

The selected singing warriors from the auditioning cities of both nations will assemble at ground zero. They will further undergo grilling through various levels of rigorous selection processes and a select team of smashing musical warriors from both nations will be carved out.

Sur-Kshetra will be produced and directed by Gajendra Singh of Saaibaba Telefilms, the pioneer of many super-hit reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma, Voice Of India, Music Ka Maha Muqaabala and Chote Ustaad to name a few. The jury and the host of the show are yet to be finalised, but it will be a mix of talent from both the countries, said a source from Sahara One.

"Music has always inspired me to explore new avenues. With 'Sur-Kshetra', we aim to touch newer heights and create a new musical world. I thank Sahara One, and especially Boney (Kapoor) to have given me such a challenging opportunity and I am really excited about it," Singh said in a press statement.
