Sai and Shakti Anand head to Bollywood

Sai and Shakti Anand will soon be seen on the big screen. The duo has been signed for a movie called Ghar:Aundha. Shravni Deodhar, Sai’s mother, is directing the movie.

Explaining the concept of the film Sai says, "It is a light hearted family film. The title also we have given like this Ghar:Aundha, aundha means ulta in Hindi. The basic concept of the film is that everyone teaches us that you should always do good things, even if it will not lead you to a good end but eventually you will achieve good things only."

Interestingly Sai and Shakti are not opposite each other in the film.

"Every character has good amount of contribution to this film and it is a Hrishikesh Mukherjee kind of a film. My mother is directing this movie and she knew that Shakti has that in him and he will be able to play this character very well. In real life too he keeps on cracking jokes but nobody has used this talent of his. She is impressed with his work in the film. All four of us (her father also part of this film) are involved in this project right from the day one."

Talking about selecting a comedy as her debut, Sai says, "My mother's first Marathi movie Lapandav was also a comedy and you know how we see things on screen nothing like that really happens in reality. We do have our problems and we try to solve them and come out of it. So this is a sweet, feel good film where people can actually relate to the characters."

So can we see Shakti in Marathi films soon?

"It is fun to hear him speaking the lingo; he has been hearing it for many days so you never know,” laughs Sai.

Ghar:Aundha will be released early next year. The music for the film is done by Saawariyan music composer Monty Sharma.

Both Sai and Shakti were last seen in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si.
