Hoping for success Aman Verma turns to theater

A new play is about to hit your local theatre. And that’s Mr. and Mrs. Karan Johar which is courting controversy due to its name but will also mark the debut of Aman Verma on stage. We spoke to Delnaz Paul who is playing his wife in the play.

"Our launch party was supposed to happen today (Thursday) but it has been cancelled due to current situation in the city. This is a nice play … It is a story of husband and wife who are happily married with each other for few years. However the husband makes one mistakes and hides it from his wife who is quite suspicious about him. He takes help from his friends to hide one lie and ends up telling so many lies to her,” reveals Delnaz.

Talking about Aman's debut she says, "It is true that this is Aman's first play but I think he is not new to stage. He has done anchoring in various live shows and concerts and so this is not really like a first time experience for him. He was a very good co-star and the chemistry is also good."

Prior to turning to theatre, Aman has done many films, shows and hosted a few television shows but it has not brought the actor much success. This is the first play he will be doing it.

This play has also been in the midst of a lot of controversy due to its name. Many believe that it was going to take the mickey out of the acclaimed director Karan Johar. But the show organizers insist that it has nothing to do with him and it is not at all a spoof on him. They say they have given this name as it sounds catchy.

Nigar Khan, Kiku, Firoz Mevawala, Badrul and Richa Singh are all a part of the show.
