IF THERE was a show that gave the cricketers a great platform to display some of their other skills, then Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena did wonders in doing that. It changed the traditional perception that cricketers have two left feet. The five week long journey that had begun with six couples, S Sreesanth-Surveen Chawla, Nigaar Z Khan-Dinesh Karthik, Vinod Kambli-Shama Sikander, Nikhil Chopra-Barkha Bisht and Irfan Pathan-Ashima Bhalla and Harbhajan Singh-Mona Singh ended on Saturday (October 25) with the Singh couple ruling the roost. Harabhajan and Sreesanth had given great performances throughout the show but it was left to the grand finale in order to decide the final winner. The three couples Sreesanth-Surveen, Nigaar -Dinesh and Harbhajan -Mona had been the semi finalists as well but their performances were appreciated so much that the judges decided to go with all the three couples in the final.

The couple performed on the energetic Punjabi track, Nagadda Nagadda from the Kareena Kapoor- Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met.

The dance performance was an instant hit and was appreciated by the judges as well. The duo went on to beat the other two couples on the basis of their performance.

Harbhajan is gearing up to fight the Aussies at Ferozshah Kotla this Wednesday (October 29) but this win will definitely be savored by him as it comes in a dance reality show. The show Ek Khiladi EK Haseena aired on Colors channel was not short of its piece of controversy as a case has been lodged against Harbhajan and Mona for their rendition of Ravana and Sita. The performance had irked several religious groups so much so that an official complaint was launched with the police and the couple had to come out in public and apologise for the same. The Akal Takht, which is considered to be the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community in Amritsar, had also raised objections to Harbhajan and Mona hurting the sentiments of the Hindu and the Sikh community.

But despite the setback, the Punjabi couple sailed through to win the reality show on the basis of their talent and great performances.
