But now there seems to be a shift. After the tremendous success of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Ekta seems to be bestowing way too much faith on the letter ‘B’. Why do we say so? Because she has christened her new show on Sony as Bas Itni Si Baat Hai. Furthermore, the shooting for the serial will commence in the next two days and it will go on air from 16 January 2012.
.com has already reported that Ekta’s new offering is based on infidelity and has Mona Singh and Pawan Shankar as its leads. “Ekta was busy with the promotion of The Dirty Picture, but now that the movie has become a hit, she is gearing up for the launch of Bas Itni Si Baat Hai,” says a source.We talked to Virendra Shahane, Fiction Head, Sony Entertainment, and he went on to confirm and said, “Yes, Bas Itni Si Baat Hai will air on 16 January. It will be shot in Mumbai.”

Mona Singh to return to soaps with Balaji's Bas Itni Si Baat on Sony TV starting January 16
Mona Singh, who catapulted to fame as Jassi from the popular TV serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi (JJKN) tried her hands at several ventures ever since JJKN went off-air. She was seen in in dance-reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, she played host on several reality and awards shows and also acted in Bollywood (3 Idiots). However she was nowhere to be seen in a fiction after Jassi.
But now, after almost 7 years, Mona is set to shine on television again. And this time around, the beauty gets to work with the Czarina of daily soaps, Ekta Kapoor.
Industry insiders reveal, "Mona Singh and Ekta Kapoor have recently had meetings and shall soon be coming up with a new fiction show on Sony TV. The show is titled Bas Itni Si Baat."
Buzz is that like her other show Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Ekta Kapoor also plans to mount Bas Itni Si Baat on a lavish scale. "Ekta Kapoor was instrumental in the comeback of Sakshi Tanwar in fiction slot with Bade Acche Lagte Hain. She plans the same with Mona Singh through Bas Itni Si Baat, despite the fact that they haven't worked together prior to this," adds the source.
The show is expected to go on air on January 16, 2012.
