It is being reported that at this very moment, IT officials are searching the residences and offices of top Balaji officials.
Last night they were all celebrating the successful
first official screening of their upcoming film Shootout at Wadala but come
today morning and the Kapoors were in for a rude shock! It is being reported
that the homes and offices of Balaji Telefilms Joint Managing Director Ekta
Kapoor, Chairman Jeetendra, Managing Director Shobha Kapoor and Director Tusshar
Kapoor were raided by the Income Tax department early today morning for
allegedly defaulting on taxes.
While as of now there was no official comment from Balaji and there is still no clear picture on
the same as to how the raid has progressed so far, it has been speculated that
the company Balaji Telefilms came under the scanner because of defaultment in
payment of taxes.
Balaji Telefilms has seen a successful run of Television
serials and currently has popular serials like Pavitra Rishta, Bade Acche Laggte
Hai, Ek Thhi Naayka, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada on air. It is now turning it's midas
touch to films too and has produced more
than 25 movies including blockbusters like The Dirty Picture, Ragini
MMS and Love Sex Aur Dhokha.
They have just seen a successful release in Ek Thi Daayan while their next film
Shootout at Wadala is to hit the screen this coming Friday. After the two back-to-back film releases Ekta Kapoor
had planned to take
a break from her hectic schedule as a successful producer in Mumbai to attend a
summer entrepreneur course at the Harvard University.
