Deepali Sahay, currently seen as Pari in Sahara One’s Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajhna, was a contestant in Indian Idol season 3. She was amongst the top seven contestants in that season and also went on to host the next season of the reality series along with co-contestant and friend Meiyang Chang. After Indian Idol, she played the lead in a Bhojpuri show Badi Malkin on Mahua Channel and then hosted the first season of Sai Baba Telefilms’ Bharat Ki Shaan on Doordarshan.
In fact, while she was a contestant, her friendship with Chang was talked about. And when Chang gave her a rose during one of his performances, people thought that the two were romantically involved. These rumors died later on and that the two are just friends was established. “We share the same rapport we used to during our Indian Idol days. He has come a long way since then and I am immensely happy for him,” she informs Tellychakkar.com.
Moreover, the two friends make it a point to meet at least once a year. “No matter how busy we are in our professional lives, we definitely catch up. However, it’s not just me and Chang, a lot of other contestants from that season also catch up,” says the pretty actress.
So is there anyone in her life? Deepali says she is single. “But I do not know what the future holds for me. Since I belong to a Bihari family I can enjoy my single status, till I turn 26. After that I will try my level best to stretch it further,” she ends with a smile.
