Puja Chatterjee of Indian Idol fame is under extreme stress. From the past five days, someone has been calling the singer and threatening to leak an indecent MMS of the singer.
According to Puja, these indecent calls started pouring in from February 19 onwards, for which she has now lodged a police complaint. According to the police, the singer has been getting SMSs from an Indore-based number – 09039865928.
When Bhaskar called on this number, Animesh, the person who took the call said, “I will present the media my side of the story on Friday.”
According to Puja, she got the first call on February 19 around 3:00 pm. The screen flashed ‘private number’ and the person asked Puja where she was. When she tried to ask the identity of the person, he suddenly got infuriated and advised her to only answer his questions. The same day, post 10:00 pm, Puja got the first SMS from the number. It read that he knows everything about Puja. He also said that he’d send Puja her voice recording. Pooja called and challenged the man to send her the audio. On hearing that, the person threatened her saying that he’d upload an indecent MMS of the singer on the internet.
Following are the excerpts from the SMSs, barring a few obscene things:
SMS 1: Someone loves you, not because you are a good singer, but because you’re beautiful.
SMS 2: I take good care of you. You should also take care of me. This would be good for you.
Puja Chatterjee is really upset with these calls and messages. She reported that she’s got 25 messages in 5 days. It was only when the lighter messages led to more vulgar ones that the singer realised the gravity of the situation. Puja also said that the fellow has been constantly trying to get in touch with her over the phone.
