India's Glam Diva: Sunidhi reveals the dark side of her life (05-02-2012)
The singing sensation Sunidhi Chauhan maybe a role model for millions. But very few of her fans know the darker side of her story. Though she made headlines when her singing talent got discovered at an early age, Sunidhi has braved extreme situations in her life. Even before she really started enjoying her success and what comes with it, she had a disastrous marriage that lasted just for a short period leaving her devastated.
It was during that time that the heartbroken Sunidhi found her anchor and protector in actor Anu Kapoor. He gave shelter to the young girl who was not even prepared for this setback in her life, a cruel blow that literally made her a loner. He took charge of her and did everything he could to get her back on her feet.
Talking about this phase of Sunidhi's life Anu said, “A talented child, but a stupid child. It was a silly thing to do.”
Another person who played her guide and anchor was Sonu Nigam who helped her bring her singing career back on track. To this day Sunidhi and Sonu remain best of friends and respect and support each other’s musical initiatives. According to Sonu, “She’s transitioned from being a singer to a performer and she has brought newness to the music that she sings.”
Facing such ups and downs at a raw age, no wonder she’s learnt her lessons the hard way and is now making headway effortlessly.
