First it was Mere Apne and then Virasat, Smriti Irani’s production house – has been in the business for three years now but they were looking for that one hit show that would take her company to golden heights. But Smriti’s dreams came crashing down when both her shows were taken off air by the respective channels. Since then, the otherwise arrogant and confident Smriti Irani has been lying low. “After winding up her shows it was Balaji’s show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi that went off air. And she isn’t flying high after that,” says Smriti’s close associates. The hope in the actor’s life was her show on Zee TV, Waaris .” Apparently, that too turned out to be a disappointment. The buzz is that La Irani’s show has been axed from the channel. “It was low TRP’s and non popularity that resulted in it’s failure. And it was the channel’s call to take it off air.” According to Irani’s gang, she hasn’t taken this piece of news too kindly. “Of course it gives her every reason to feel betrayed. Waaris is just 3 months old on air. For any show to go off air in that little time is humiliating.” Smriti chose to remain unavailable. But the Programming head of Zee TV Ajay Balwankar says: “It was a tough call. But we had to take it. Smriti is a great person but we have to keep personal and professional equations apart.” |
