I'm my own man, says Rakhi's Ex, Abhishek Awasthi, dumped by girlfriend Rakhi Sawant, says he's built his career himself and was never dependent on the item girl.
"Main jo bhi kuchch hoon, it's because of my talent, not because of her! Aisa hota toh main Ek Se Badhkar Ek ke liye kabhi select nahi hota!” speaking of his participation in a reality show.
Asked why the couple broke up, Abhishek gave no details saying only that "it’s personal."
But he left the door open by saying that there had been "miscommunication and misunderstanding."
He had a really busy schedule and wasn't able to give her enough time and that might be a reason, he speculated. The two have been separated for a month now. Asked why news of their split only came this week, Abhishek snapped: "I did not announce our break-up in the first place, did I?"
This is the third time that Rakhi and he have split up. The last time getting together in theatrical fashion with the news cameras rolling. “Woh toh sab chhote mote jhagde they jo har boyfriend-girlfriend ke beech hote hain," said Abhishek, "par iss baar kuch aur baat hai…” So no chance of a patch-up then? "No, none!" he said.
He wasn't bitter about his time together with hottie Rakhi, saying that "we had a wonderful relationship for three years."
So now he's going to play the field again soon?"No!"
Abhishek has moved into a flat of his own in Malad.
