Angad Hansija, who is fondly known as Alekh of Rajan Shahi’s Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai had a funny, yet very shaky experience when he made a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar recently.
“Owing to the strike, I went home to Chandigarh; and when I was at the Golden Temple to offer my prayers, I had a shocking experience”, says Angad.
As the actor entered the very crowded Gurudwara, people started recognizing him as Alekh from Bidaai and ran towards him seeking autographs. “There were people who yelled and said, ‘Alekh aaya hai’. And they were also enquiring, how I managed to come alone, and looked around for Sadhana”, quips a delighted Angad.
As Angad got into the Gurudwara to pray, people there asked him to come out as they wanted his autograph. But then, Angad got to pray for few minutes and the minute he came out, he was again mobbed by hundreds of them. Talking about this experience, Angad verbalizes, “I signed few autographs and then ran forward when I saw another huge crowd coming towards me. I got really scared and ran inside the Grantji’s room and closed the door from inside. After a while, when the Grantsaab came there, I requested him to take me out thro’ the side door, as I could not handle so many people at one go. This way, I slowly made my way out and there, my cousins formed a circle around me and escorted me outside. We really do not know how quickly we ran to get out of the crowd and get safe!!”.
Well, Angad should really thank his stars for winning this marathon of sorts!!
