Rahul Mahajan, one of the celebrity inmates on the reality television show Bigg Boss, is out of the show. Rahul along with other inmates Raja Chaudhary, Zulfi Sayed and Ashutosh had attempted to jump out of the Bigg Boss house by climbing the wall. According to the rules of the show, no inmate is allowed to leave the house before the completion of the show or before being voted out. After returning to the house all the other contestants barring Rahul apologised for their action. Rahul reportedly said, “I’d rather quit than apologise”. It must be recalled that Rahul has often broken rules of the show by discarding his mike or discussing nominations. We tried calling Deepak Dhar, MD, Endemol India, but was unavailable for comments. Now with the strongest contender out of the show it’s a toss between any of the other guys left inside the house. But one never knows. Let’s wait and watch whether Rahul returns or leaves the game to the others. This episode will be aired tonight (18 Nov 2008).Source: From Google news | |||||||
Rumours are rife that Rahul Mahajan, one of the strongest contenders on reality show "Bigg Boss", has been asked to leave after he refused to apologise for fleeing the house with three other inmates. The rumour came to surface Tuesday morning, after Rahul jumped out of the “Bigg Boss” house along with the other existing participants - Raja Chaudhary, Zulfi Syed and Ashutosh Kaushik. It was shown on Monday's episode. The four men requested “Bigg Boss” organisers to send them a pre-cooked or ready-to-eat meal. When their request wasn't met, they protested by escaping from the “Bigg Boss” house. The prime rule of the "Bigg Boss" house is that no contestant can leave the house and the four contestants broke that rule. They protested when just six days before the grand finale where the winner will get prize money of Rs.10 million. According to television reports, while the others apologised for breaking the rule, Rahul said that he won't say sorry because he wasn't guilty for what he did. As a result he was asked to leave the show. As of now, the channel is not ready to confirm or deny the news. A spokesperson of Endemol India, the production house of the said that an official press statement would be released later in the day. Former participant Monica Bedi, who was evicted out of the show last week, told IANS: “I believe Rahul has been evicted, but I am not 100 percent sure as I have only heard it from the media. I have not yet been told by the production house or any reliable source.” Monica, who shared a close relationship with Rahul on the show, conjectured that the four men might have jumped off the wall due to mental pressure and lack of food. “Rahul had lost almost eight kilograms till I was there. It is very tough to stay there without food. So I am sure they tried to flee to get something to eat. Otherwise, Rahul is such a patient person,” she said. It has been more than three months now since these men were locked inside the “Bigg Boss” house under 24-hour camera surveillance. |
"After the crew stopped the housemates from going out of the house, Bigg Boss demanded an apology from all of them as it is against the rules to break out of the house. The other three apologised but Rahul refused to do so. That's why he was evicted from the house," says a source.
Eyewitness said that Rahul's sister, Poonam Mahajan landed in Lonavala -- where the Bigg Boss house is located -- to take her brother back to Mumbai. But sources also say that he has to stay back to complete his shoot with the show's host Shilpa Shetty.
Endemol's Managing Director (India) Deepak Dhar was unavailable for comment despite several attempts. Endemol sources refused to confirm or deny Rahul Mahajan's eviction.
Rahul, on his part, asked to be evicted with whatever amount he deserved to get for 90 days, saying he didn't feel like staying on any longer.
They were immediately pushed back into the house by the security guards. When the production house Endemol asked for an explanation from the contestants for breaching the rule Rahul said he would prefer to leave the show rather than apologise. His wish was granted leaving Zulf, Raja and Ashutosh in the battle ground for the title crown. It will be interesting to see who wins the show from here as Rahul Mahajan was considered to be one of the strongest contestants in the show.
