Seema Bhargava, who played Badki in Hum Log 25 years back, now plays Dadi to the young bunch of bubbly girls in Sony’s Hum Ladkiyaan. But nothing has changed for the veteran television and theater actress as she spreads love all over even today!!Best remembered as Badki in Hum Log, the very popular series which appeased every middle class family, Seema is still known and referred to by her famous character name. “Even after Hum Log went off air, I was Badki to people around me for nearly 5 years. Many people thought I actually ran a sanstha and there would be girls coming to me for help. I have helped a lot of girls, married them to better families without dowry and also sent some girls to where they would be taken good care of. Badki was a beautiful character I ever got to play on and off screen”, quips the veteran.
Ask her if she finds any similarity between Hum Log and Hum Ladkiyan, she is quick to reply, “I think there is no change in the subject. Hum Log highlighted the problems of a middle class family, which is also seen in Hum Ladkiyan. I can associate the girls of Hum Ladkiyan to the characters in Hum Log. Then and now, the concern of parents getting their daughters married in good families hasn't changed. On the character of course I have got promoted from Badki to Dadi in Hum Ladkiyan now”, she concludes.
