Bigg Boss employee arrested for theft

The Lonavla (city) police on Monday arrested an employee of the Bigg Boss television reality show at the sets in Lonavla for allegedly stealing sound boxes, sound cables, electronic cameras and cell phones on late Sunday night.

Show organiser Ravi Gangaram Narmula, 23, of Goregaon, had lodged a complaint with the police saying unidentified person(s) stole the materials from the sets.

A team, headed by inspector Sudam Darekar and assistant sub-inspector Prakash Vidhate, questioned workers on the set. There are about 30 workers employed at the set.

One of the workers, Sainath Dnyanoba Lokhande, 26, of Vadgaon Maval, started behaving in a suspicious manner.

The police questioned him. They later recovered the stolen goods from his house at Vadgaon Maval and his aunt’s residence.

Lokhande was working in the house-keeping department at the sets for two months. He was aware about the valuables kept at the sets. He allegedly studied the security arrangement for two weeks before committing the crime.
